GALLERY CAFE
PROJECT: PUB
LOCATION: ITALY
One of the most eclectic Cafè in the city center of Padova, located on one of the main streets, surrounded by tourist and young people because of the nearby university. The goal was to raise awareness, particularly the young ones, to art, getting their attention and in traducing them to this surreal dimension.
This wants to be a tribute to the one of the major Pop Artist, Jean Michel Basquiat.
Every single object is handmade with the purist Made in Italy spirit. Tables, chairs, lamps, walls, every individual element is designed for the client, customized ad made from local artisans and artists. At the entrance of the main room, a red-fire metal cross stands out and gives an innovative arrangement to the fridges. By looking up the attention is captured by a completely surreal chandelier created with street materials, coherent with the artist’s philosophy.
The furniture is a scenography, eclectic and unpredictable, from objects created and used in irreverent ways to others found in markets and disused factories and then recycled, like the old car molds used to create the applique lamps.
