OHANA RESIDENCE

PROJECT: RESIDENCE

LOCATION: GERMANY

Initially constructed in 1903 and then extended in 2012 with a majestic combination of classical and modern style. The intention was to pursue the union between classical and modern architecture style with the interior decoration. Classicism of the Italian style, with an appeal to the Asian artistic representations, was reinvented in a contemporary way, keeping harmony with the living environment and a deep artistic sense.

Desiring a home that celebrated the clients’ personal love for art and color but mainly their style and unique personality.

Inspired by the client’s strong sense of family, I wanted to introduce one of the most representative symbol that embraces this union; The Crane. In this case, the priority was to make the dining room as open and as bright as possible, it has been achieved thanks to the brightness of the gold background of the wall.

The living room embodies a classical style with its chimney, built-in bookcases and the herringbone floor in oak wood. Modern perspective is conferred by the plaster that gives an elegant geometry and luxurious effect, and by its own simplicity.

This graphics start from the ceiling with a design of per-potions and then connected through the wall where, by breaking the rules, an eclectic dialogue of style is born.
The radiators are the result of an innovative idea, which revisited become real paintings.

A few steps from the entrance, a figure is peering who is coming. Hand-painted wall of Neptune from Bernini’s sculpture. Major expression of classicism reinvented in a Pop-Art way with the irony of the radiators.

In this project, the client wanted to be fully integrated and involved. Some of the objects were discovered in the best antique and vintage shops of Venice and artfully restored, like the stool in a Luigi XV style, reinvented in a Pop way with a careful selection of the fabric. Also, something as simple as a dummy has been given a sort of artistic identity. This also the embodiment of the ironic taste that characterizes the client’s personality.
